SportStar Aviation to be sole UK Evektor agent

Roger Cornwell’s Ascent Industries is to become the sole UK source for all Evektor light sport and microlight aircraft from 1 January 2022.

Ascent will also provide customer support and spare parts for both new aircraft and the existing UK fleet of Eurostar EV-97 and Eurostar SL aircraft, under the brand SportStar Aviation.

Ascent is already the sole UK representative for Evektor’s SportStar aircraft and UK approval for the latest 600kg weight limit SportStar SLM is almost complete, according to Roger.

“Until 31 December, Evektor-Aerotechnik and Ascent will be installing systems, people, stock and related organisational matters,” said Roger. “The existing customer support services will be provided through Ascent Industries and the current distribution channels.”

Owners of Eurostar EV-97 and SL aircraft should register with Ascent to ensure they have the correct details of each aircraft and can supply correct parts.

The EV-97 is no longer in production and the Eurostar SL is no longer available in the UK as a kit or factory build. All new aircraft supplied will be the SportStar at 600kg.

Ascent Industries already builds and maintains the 110+ strong fleet of EuroFox aircraft at its facilities in Kent and Wiltshire.

“The Sportstar will join the stable and benefit from the support services already in place,” added Roger. “Our new Sportstar extension has just opened with production of the factory-built 600kg microlight ongoing.”
