This coming weekend there will be an attempt to break the record for the number of microlights crossing the Channel to France. The current record stands at 120. So with hopefully more than that heading for Calais or Abbeville you can expect the airspace to be err…busy.
The event has been organised to commemorate the 100th year of powereed flight. Weather permitting the plan is to depart from Headcorn on Saturday, returning on Sunday, although obviously that could change if the weather dictates a later departure.
Needless to say keeping your eyes open in the area would be a very good thing!
