Whelen Engineering Company has acquired LoPresti Aviation. Both companies are leaders in aviation lighting and will be combined into a single organisation, Whelen Aerospace Technologies, or WAT.
LoPresti is a well-known name in General Aviation for its speed modifications as well as, more recently, its high performance HID ‘Boom Beam’ lighting. It holds more than 500 FAA STCs for mods.
Founded in 1952, Whelen Engineering designs and manufactures warning lights, white illumination lighting, sirens, controllers, and high-powered warning systems for automotive, aviation and other industries.
“WAT enables both companies to combine resources and deliver distinct technologies to the market,” said Whelen president and CEO George Whelen.
