Wycombe’s BEA becomes UK Sonaca agent

Sonaca 200

BEA has become the exclusive Sonaca Aircraft dealer for the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Channel Islands.

Belgium based Sonaca Aircraft manufactures the Sonaca 200, a two-seat all-metal aircraft aimed at flight training organisations.

The Sonaca 200 currently comes in two versions: the basic version featuring classic T arrangement of primary instruments whilst the glass cockpit version (Sonaca 200 Trainer Pro) is equipped with the new Garmin G500 TXi and Honeywell KI 300 as Backup EFIS instruments. Both are powered by a Rotax engine.

BEA is based at London Wycombe Air Park and is offering a Sale & Leaseback Purchase Plan. The company is also the UK agent for Piper aircraft.

How can an operator who has effectively thrown the gliding club off the airfield, who have been there since at least 1974 , have any respect in the GA community.

    • Brian Kane says:

BEA did not have any involvement in stopping the gliders from flying, you need to get your facts accurate before you speak in public.
Both the council, who are the gliders landlords (not BEA) and the glider club themselves broke CAA rules on health and safety and ignored the local by-laws in the airfield manual.
As a result, AAA not BEA had no choice but to stop gliding until all parties had agreed a safe way forward.
The council have still made no effort to enter meaningful dialogue to recommence their tenants gliding activities.
Flyer magazine also need to check the contents of their editorial before publishing inaccurate statements.
