The 29th FAI World Aerobatic Championships will be held in Malelane, South Africa from 9th to 17th September 2017. Malelane is situated in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa alongside the Olifants River on the southern border of the Kruger Park.

Malelane is approximately 350km from Johannesburg. Most major airlines have direct flights to Johannesburg. There are regular daily flights from Johannesburg to Kruger International Airport, situated 90km from Malelane. A number of car rental companies are represented at Kruger International including Europcar, Hertz, Budget amongst others.

10 to 17 September 2017. Competition Flights.
17 September 2017. Public Display, Closing Ceremony.
18 September 2017. Departures.

    This from one who came 11th out of 22 entrants in the Vintage Aerobatic World Championships held in Denmark last month. Taking part were Jungmeisters, Jungmanns, a Stieglitz, two Stampes, a Tiger Moth and a KZ8. The winner, a Belgian, flew a new Polish built Jungmeister powered by a Czech LOM 6 cylinder in line 180hp engine with formidable potential. It was the friendliest contest I have ever been in since my first at Sywell in 1959.
