Weather delays balloon attempt

David Hempleman-Adams’ solo attempt to cross the Atlantic in a helium balloon is being delayed by bad weather. Speaking from the Bank of Ireland control centre in the UK, flight director David Owen said that the weather in Pittsburgh hasn’t been this bad for the past ten years.

Hempleman-Adams is keeping his fingers crossed and hoping for suitable launch conditions soon. He aims to be in Dublin for the closing ceremony of the Special Olympics on June 29.
