£750-worth of flying is available from the Vintage Aircraft Club to go towards a taildragger conversion course.

The Liz Inwood Taildragger Scholarship is an annual award from VAC for a pilot who is 35 years old or younger and would like to fly taildragger vintage aircraft.

The applicant must be the holder of a current PPL, NPPL or LAPL, with 100 hours total flying time of which at least 50 hours are as a pilot in command.

All applications must be completed on the application form available on the VAC website and sent in by Sunday, 8 August 2021.

The award will include aircraft hire and instructors costs only, said VAC, and it does not include any travel, accommodation or subsistence.

The successful applicant will also be invited, as a guest of VAC, to the LAA Rally at Sywell Aerodrome, Northampton at the beginning of September where the successful recipient will be announced.
