Thorpedo to be revealed at Sebring

The US Sport Aviation Expo starts today at Sebring in Florida. It’s the new focus for the LSA – Light Sport Aircraft – market in America.

One of the big pre-show announcements came from IndUS, which now manufactures the Thorp T211. It has announced that it will be giving a ‘sneak preview’ of its Thorpedo LP, an LSA version of the T211 at Sebring. We’re not sure, but we think that the ‘LP’ stands for LoPresti, which has been involved in souping up the new type to extract and 20 kt at 75 percent cruise power.

The company hopes to market the aircraft ‘agressively’ at Sebring, and have the full version available for Sun ‘n Fun later in the spring.

‘This is not a “just around the patch airplane”, but rather a practical traveler in a fun to fly airplane,’ says the company, and points to its motto: “Life is short … Fly FAST!”.
