Tell EASA your views

If you want to avoid another JAA-style debacle over private flying – whether you are a PPL (fixed-wing or rotary), a glider pilot, an instructor, a flying club or training school – you need make your voice heard on the European Aviaton Safety Agency’s (EASA) website now.

The new pan-European authority has produced proposals for Flight Crew Licensing and Operations and, in particular, a consultation document that needs responding to before July 31 or GA risks getting tied up in bureaucratic red tape – which will probably mean increasing costs and further regulation.

It is clear that the Agency will take responsibility for professional Licensing and Operations, and that will include training for professional pilots, but the heavy hand of European Bureaucracy on recreational flying can do nothing but harm.

For more details visit the EASA website <a href=”http://www.easa.eu.int/rulemaking_en.html” target=”_blank”>here</a> and click on consultation document

There is a comment form attached and remember, this is your one chance to be heard!
