TAG revises airspace plan for Farnborough

Farnborough airport

TAG Farnborough Airport has started a new consultation for its bid to expand its airspace. The previous airspace proposal was ‘paused’ by the CAA last year for technical reasons. The airport has now refined the proposal which can be found at the link below.

TAG Farnborough Airport says it will hold meetings at Capron House, Midhurst on Thursday 1 September 2016 at 7pm and on Tuesday 20 September 2016 at 7pm for those stakeholders who would like to ask questions regarding these refinements.

The consultation will run until Wednesday 5 October 2016. UPDATE Extended to Wednesday 2 November 2016. After that, TAG will submit the responses to the CAA complete with actions TAG may take. A decision on the proposal is expected by early 2017.

The main element of the new proposal is arrival paths from the south. “It would reduce the total amount of new ‘controlled’ airspace we need,” says TAG. “It would also simplify the crossing point with another route, improving the overall efficiency of the proposed design, and enhancing safety even further. ”
