S-TEC autopilot STC for Aerostar

Piper Aerostar S-TEC autopilot

The Piper Aerostar twin is the latest aircraft to receive STC approval for installation of the S-TEC 3100 autopilot from Genesys Aerosystems.

The 3100 is a three-axis fully-featured, attitude-based autopilot that’s compatible with digital sources and EFIS displays from Garmin, Aspen and others.

The Aerostar models include PA-60-600, PA-60-601, PA-60-601P and PA-60-602P.

Genesys says the benefits of the S-TEC 3100 are:

  • Precise, digital flight control for every phase of flight
  • Two-axis (three-axis option on some models)
  • Automatic Trim included
  • Envelope Protection/Alerting*
  • Straight and Level Recovery
  • Precision Approaches/Missed Approaches
  • Indicated Airspeed Hold*
  • Altitude Preselect*

*Additional equipment may be required in some configurations.

The full list of aircraft that can fit the 3100 is available on the Genesys website and include Beech Bonanza, Baron and King Air, Cessna 177, 182, 210, T303, 414, Piper PA-24, PA-31, PA-32, PA-46, and many more.
