Flight International is reporting that the Russian authorities are planning to relax regulations covering light aviation in the country.
The amendments include the ability carry out flights without prior permission from the authorities, as well as the simplification of procedures for certification, registration and maintenance. These rules cover aircraft under 5,700 kg (helicopters under 3,100 kg).
There has also been an easing of restictions on bizjet and small airline operators, with greater freedoms for flights carrying 20 or fewer passengers.
