New CAA head of GA

Captain John Hills is to be the new Head of the CAA’s General Aviation Department. He takes over from Rod Dean who is off to sunnier climes (well, some of the time, anyway) as Chief Executive of the new CAA subsidiary company Air Safety Support International.

Capt Hills was previously Head of Approvals and Deputy Head of the CAA’s Personnel Licensing Department. He has extensive knowledge of GA and flight training having been involved in light aviation for many years. He was previously the CAA Chief Flight Examiner before taking up the Approvals post.

Rod’s new post at Air Safety Support International (ASSI) will be to provide a more
cohesive system of civil aviation safety regulation in the Overseas Territories. We wish him well.
