Colin Bodill and Jennifer Murray have now reached the South Pole as their record breaking attempt to circumnavigate the world via the two poles continues.
They reached the landmark yesterday morning. Jennifer says, “It’s a terrific feeling to have made it to the South Pole. Bad weather conditions have hampered our progress along the way but we had a clear weather window when leaving Fowler and flying the 1200 miles to the Pole in one go has put us very much back on schedule.”
The pair have reached this point in the journey once before: three years ago they made it to the South Pole, only to crash in whiteout conditions a couple of days later. Both received serious injuries.
