Light Aircraft Design Conference 2019
Conference staged by the Royal Aeronautical Society at its HQ: No 4 Hamilton Place, London W1J 7BQ.
The conference programme this year is themed ‘Electrifying General Aviation’. General Aviation, and particularly its lighter side, is being blessed with a perfect coming-together of different technologies that are firing the imagination of design engineers.
Hundreds of projects are being started to exploit the recent advances in electric motors and their controllers. The projects are also benefiting from electronically-enhanced aerodynamic stability which is changing the shape and, in some cases, the whole concept of aerial vehicles.
The recent availability of E-Conditions to permit affordable flight testing at early stages of development coupled with the accessibility of hitherto very costly high strength and light-weight materials have all stoked enthusiasm in this sector. Electrifying GA is inevitable but it is also exciting so come and be inspired by a day of new ideas, well-researched advances, and important lessons.
