Old Sarum Flying Club has announced a scheme under which members will be allowed to fly the club’s aircraft at less popular times of the day, by offering flying at up to half the normal rates.
“If we reduce the rates for the less popular slots it may tempt our members to fly at a time they may not normally wish to,” said Simon Birt from the club. “It will also make use of aircraft that would otherwise be sitting on the ground.”
The slots will be offered at half the normal solo rate, with instructors’ fees being added to that if required. Membership is £115 per annum; they point out that using this offer would help people to keep up their licence hours without paying full price.
