Grob's prototype business jet crashes

Grob Aerospace confirmed that a prototype of its forthcoming business jet, the SPn, crashed today close to its facility in Bavaria. The pilot was killed in the crash.

The company was working towards European certification of the six to eight seat jet, and had accumulated approximately 300 flight hours on two airframes.

The pilot has been named as Gerard Guillaumaud, 45. There was a post-crash fire, which destroyed the aircraft. Eye witnesses say the flight had taken off apparently normally, but crashed into the field four or five miles from the airfield when it was rejoining the circuit.
