Freelance sub-editor needed for FLYER

FLYER magazine is looking for a freelance, part-time sub-editor to help put the magazine together during our busy press week. The role is for a professional, trained sub-editor with at least two years’ experience.

The sub-editor works with the editorial team subbing copy and pages, ensuring all copy is accurate, entertaining and produced to the highest standards.

Key skills are:

  • Perfect spelling and grammar
  • Superb editing and writing skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to cross-check information
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Knowledge of legal and libel issues
  • Ability to apply the style guide.

A knowledge of aviation would be useful. The sub-editor role can be fulfilled from anywhere with a decent internet connection.

    Not sure where that was written and by whom Nic but in my experience the editorial staff try to leave submissions as close to the contribuor’s original work as possible. You should see some of the rubbish (mine) they’ve let through!
