Columbia Aircraft, manufacturers of the Columbia 350 and 400 all-composite aircraft, have reported that 2006 was a record year, with 185 deliveries. The previous year had seen 114 deliveries. The figures break down into 146 Columbia 400s and 39 Columbia 350s.
The company says that these figures were set ‘Despite delays early in the year certifying the Garmin G1000 glass panel and a subsequent, freak hail storm that necessitated the refinishing of more than 60 aircraft awaiting customer delivery,’
