Cessna to deliver 150 350/400s this year

Cessna has taken the opportunity afforded by the Farnborough Air Show to reveal that it expects to deliver as many as 150 model 350 and 400s this year.

The Cessna 400 – formerly the Columbia 400 – is on display at Farnborough. It is said to be the fast fixed-gear single-engine piston on the market. Cessna acquired the type, along with the 350, following the bankruptcy of the former owners at the end of last year.

Also in the news, Cessna says that it has completed the third example of its new single-engine aircraft, the C162 SkyCatcher. This airframe will be used for structural testing, while the two previous airframes are being used for flight testing. Nearly 80 hours have now been flown in the test phase.

Other Cessna news:
– 100th delivery of Citation Mustang expected soon; orders have exceeded 500
– Earlier this month Cessna (in the US) offered free fuel for up to 18 months, plus an avionics upgrade, for purchasers of new Cessna 182 Skylanes or Turbo Skylanes. Offer lasts up to September 30 this year
