Airspace bust: see what happens

After the news (<a href=’newsfeed2.php?artnum=328′ target=’_blank’>reported last month</a>) that airspace busts are on the rise – albeit in part because of stricter reporting procedures – the <a href=’http://www.flyontrack.co.uk/radar.asp’ target=’_blank’>Fly On Track</a> website now has a video screen capture of an incursion event in the Heathrow zone.

It’s dramatic, not because any lives were put at risk, but because of the speed at which things develop, and because of the action which was required to keep a potential conflict from developing.

As the very useful explanatory text on the site explains, the infringing aircraft had just made the common mistake of misreading the DI, but the disruption that it caused was significant.
