BBC News is reporting that a light aircraft hit power cables near Oxford (Kidlington) Airport last night. The aircraft landed safely after the incident, but more than 3,500 houses were left without power. Although the supply was restored within a couple of hours, work continues today.
A spokeswoman for Southern Electric told BBC News: “Nothing like this has happened in this area before.”
