Aerobility's Reborn Warrior has avionics stolen

Aerobility avionics theft

The pilot community is being asked to look out for a Garmin GTN650 navcomm unit and Garmin GMA350 audio panel stolen from Aerobility’s new remanufactured Piper Warrior.

Aerobility, the charity which gives disabled people the opportunity to fly, took delivery of the Warrior earlier this month.

UPDATE Tuesday 1 May: The cost of the theft will be covered on insurance, arranged by Haywards Aviation, but Aerobility still has to pay the excess. Anyone who feels able to donate to meet that cost is invited to do so here: https://mydonate.bt.com/charities/aerobility

The aircraft had been remanufactured by Reborn Aviation, with more than fifty separate upgrades, including a Lycoming factory re-built engine, a new propeller, Garmin G500 glass cockpit and avionics including terrain and traffic awareness, aerodynamic fairings and LED landing lights.

The serial numbers of the stolen units are:
GTN 650 – 1Z8021257
GMA350 – 1UF100394

The crime has been reported to the Hampshire police under reference number 44180151257

Anyone who something to report is asked to contact Aerobility or the police: call 101, request Hampshire police and quote RMS 44180151257.
