Bath-based FLYER magazine is looking for somebody to help compile its annual Clubs and Schools Directory 2008
This is a task which would suit a student, thanks to the contacts you could make and the knowledge that you already have.
The listing is compiled from a questionnaire sent out by FLYER which asks clubs and schools around the UK for their details, such as contact details, training offered, their fleet and pricing.
We also have an on-line questionnaire.
We need somebody who can carry out all (or most of) the following tasks:
- collate the entries as they arrive and type them into a database
- check details on the entries with the clubs when something isn't clear
- check questionnaires/online entries we've received back, against those which we've sent out
- come up with a way to find any schools or clubs which we haven't got on our current database, so that our coverage is complete
- chase any schools which haven't provided details
- take part in the process of turning the database into a section of the magazine
- maybe write an introduction to the Directory in the magazine
The work would start before Christmas with the sending out of the question and come to a climax in late February as the April 2008 issue of the magazine goes to print
You will come with a certain amount of (light) aviation knowledge, an ability to use computers and good interpersonal skills.
You will gain: the chance to talk to clubs and schools around the UK; some valuable work experience within aviation; a good-looking entry on your CV; a bit of money.
