19 Christmas Fly-in, Compton Abbas. Sometimes you need an excuse to go flying in December – and this is it! We’ll have festive goodies on sale at the airfield and a festive menu to tickle your taste buds too. Why not take the opportunity to see our beautiful area from the air and book an experience flight for you and family or friends? They make great gifts too. Pilots: A free mince pie (or Christmassy alternative!) and coffee for each pilot. It’s the last weekend that we are open before closing for Christmas so come and celebrate with us. website
20 The Christmas Fly-in, Old Buckenham Airfield, United Kingdom. Provided they don’t get in the way of the sleigh, or whatever else he decides to use, aircraft of all types are welcome to come to our last fly in of 2015. Jimmy’s will be serving a suitably seasonal menu and we’ll be making some surprise arrangements to get everyone in the festive mood. Entry is £2 per person or £5 per car load of people. 02-03 Engineering Open Weekend, Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden. The Collection is opening its doors to let you take a look behind the scenes. In our Engineering Workshop you’ll see the latest progress on the latest projects. You’ll also get the chance to chat with our skilled engineers to discover what goes into rebuilding vintage aircraft, maintenance and the skills needed to keep these aircraft flying. Don’t miss a visit to our vehicle workshop too, where we’re working on a range of restoration projects. website

02-03 Icicle Fly-in, Holmbeck Farm Airfield, Beds. Lady and Gentlemen, the time of year is upon us when we must schedule the most significant winter flying event of the calendar. Icicle 2016. On the first sub-zero high pressure blue-sky weekend of the year, we fly into a roughly central UK airfield, head over to the pub for a drink (or maybe 2); aviation themed quiz, curry, abuse and banter.
