12 Seething Airfield Charity Air Day. This will be the 10th Annual Charity Air Day to be held in its current format, and if one anniversary isn't enough 2010 is the 50th of the flying club at Seething Airfield. The principal charity will be the East Anglian Air Ambulance and they will be joined by the Help for Heroes charity who do a fantastic job in helping injured service personnel. Visitors can look forward to some spectacular displays, vintage military vehicles and classic cars, and family-friendly stalls and attractions. There's also a chance to win a free flight. website

18 Caseright Aviation Summer Fly-in and Barbecue, Turweston Aerodrome, Northamptonshire. 18-19 Battle of Britain Airshow, Cotswold Airport (Kemble), Wiltshire. Along with classic aircraft from the period, including the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster, there will be an appearance by the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the A380 Airbus, and the RAF’s new transport aircraft, the A400M. Other aircraft due to appear include a Tiger Moth display team, a Hawker Hunter T7, a Jet Provost T3, Antonov AN2 (the world’s biggest single-engined bi-plane) and a Douglas DC3 wartime transport aircraft that most probably flew from Kemble during 1944. Visitors will also have the chance to take part in a dogfight with aerobatics speciatlists Ultimate High, with packages is for two people, includes entry fee to the air show, lunch and the flight in a Bulldog aircraft. 26 Visit the Vulcan Day, Southend Airport. Visitors will be able to inspect ex-RAF V-Bomber Avro Vulcan XL426 at close quarters and have a guided tour of the cockpit website

26 Coventry Airport Fly-in, Coventry Airport. Some of the world's most iconic aircraft are plotting a course for Coventry Airport in a bid to raise urgently needed funds for Britain's wounded servicemen and women. The Vulcan bomber is due to land at 1100, while event will also include the Battle of Britain Commemorative Flight, a Hurricane, Tornado and Hercules as well as modern day jet, helicopters and classic flights. Visitors will not only have the opportunity to get close up and personal with pilots, crew and aircraft, experience hangar-based shopping and entertainment, but be part of the Fly-in experience by taking a helicopter flight around the airfield. 17-18 The Challenges for Flight Simulation – The Next Steps, Royal Aeronautical Society, No.4 Hamilton Place, London. Has Flight Simulation technology reached a plateau? Are there still challenges to be resolved? The Royal Aeronautical Society Flight Simulation Group believes there are many challenges in Flight Simulation, and has organised this Conference to identify them and some possible solutions. One major challenge is to rationalise the variety of Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD) used in pilot training based on training need. Results will be presented from the International Working Group organised by the RAeS, known as the IWG-H, which has addressed the definition of FSTDs for helicopters. The results take the form of guidance material to be published as ICAO 9625. This will be the first time that FSTDs for rotary wing aircraft have been addressed in this way. website
