04 Seething Museum Open Day & Fly-in, Seething Tower Museum. Fly in and visit the Control Tower Museum’s first open day of the season. All landing donations are in aid of the Control Tower Museum funds. Seething Tower Museum is a living memorial to members of 448th Bomb Group of the United States Air Force who started flying from the newly constructed RAF Seething in 1943. The building now houses an impressive collection of artefacts and photographs of Seething Airfield and those based there between 1943 and 1945. The Royal Institute of Navigation's TOPNAV competition has been significantly modernised with a number of changes including shorter routes - less cost, low entry fees, no rapid planning - route will be given on arrival and an improved debrief. 18 Italian Day Fly-in, Compton Abbas. We will be holding an 'Italian Day' in conjunction with 'Moto Corsa' Motorcycles located just up the road in Ashmore. Vintage and modern aircraft that are of an Italian background will be treated to free landings (PPR with Compton!). 24-25 D-Day Anniversary Air Show, IWM Duxford . The D-Day Anniversary Air Show commemorates the 70th anniversary of this decisive military campaign, demonstrating the vital role that aerial warfare played in the invasion of Normandy. The airshow will feature fighter, bomber and transport aircraft types that would have been seen over the beaches of France, together with thrilling ground content, including a march past by Normandy veterans and serving personnel from the Parachute Regiment. 26 Bidford Classic Wings and Wheels, Bidford Airfield. About 150 classic vehicles and twenty visiting aircraft turned up last year despite breezy weather. Bidford is a pretty grass airfield with a 750 metre runway six miles west of Stratford on Avon, and entry to the event is free of charge, but supports Acorns Children's Hospices. To mark the 25th anniversary, BRP will hold a Rotax Fly-in taking place from June 5 to 7, 2014 at the airport in Wels, Upper Austria, in cooperation with the Aero Club Weisse Moewe Wels. 21-22 Great North Fly-in, Eshott Airfield, Northumberland. This year's event will take place in the same vein as previous years with the emphasis on having a bit of fun and raising money for the Armed Forces. 04-06 Alderney Fly-in, Alderney Airport. The event was a great success for the island in 2013 but organisers hope to attract more visitors in 2014. The weekend will include opportunities to fly a navex over France, tour the island either by land or by sea, and there will be many more competitions and events to suit all comers. 13 Annual Family Fun Day and Fly-in, City Airport Barton. Last year this event had around 4,000 visiting members of the public and often attracts 50-100 aircraft with the right weather on the day. The event also had a fly-past by the BBMF Dakota last year and this year hopes to build on that by incorporating a number of flying displays. website

23-30 Classic Aircraft Meeting , Hedlanda Airport ESNC Sweden. During the Classic Aircraft Meeting pilots, friends of GA, locals and tourists will join and mingle in the friendly atmosphere of Hedlanda. It is a follow-up of the successful Jodel Meeting in 2010. There are many exotic places to visit, the magic Sonfjället with the national park and all the surrounding woods with bear, elk, reindeer – to name just a few of the wild animals in this area.The lakes, creeks and rivers contain fine fish and trips will be arranged to the best waters. 26-27 VAC turns 50, Popham Airfield. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Vintage Aircraft Club. Plans are now falling into place for its 50th Anniversary birthday party and fly in at Popham airfield in Hampshire. We will have a fine marquee for our base, while an ‘all-day barbecue’ and the Spitfire Flying Club will be providing food and drink on both days of the event. For Saturday night we will be organising some fun and entertainment, plus more food and drink. This fly-in could be a real challenge to your weight and balance! If you would like to camp by your aeroplane – that’s fine. If you’d prefer to bring a camper van or caravan - no problem, ‘pitches’ will be available, as will toilets and washing facilities. For those of a less outdoors temperament there are local hotels and B & Bs to cater for your needs. 07 Seething Airfield Charity Airday, Seething Airfield. This is an annual charity fund raising air show featuring breath taking international air display acts, local charity and craft stands, static aircraft displays, classic & military vehicles, refreshments, and of course the Seething Tower Museum. 08 HAA 2014 Symposium, RAF Museum, Hendon. The Historic Aircraft Association (HAA) is pleased to confirm that the 2014 Symposium will be held at the RAF Museum, Hendon. The line-up of top speakers is already taking shape, and further details will be released later in the year when the programme is confirmed. Keep checking the HAA website for further details and how to book. Last year's event was a sell-out, so early booking will be recommended for both HAA members and non members. website

09 Remembrance Sunday at Seething, Seething Airfield. A short service of remembrance held at the old control tower of this former WWII Airfield followed by light refreshments in the control tower tea room. Visitors are welcome by road or air. Times will be published on the airfield’s web site at www.seething-airfield.com. Seething Tower Museum is a living memorial to members of 448th Bomb Group of the United States Air Force who started flying from the newly constructed RAF Seething in 1943. The building now houses an impressive collection of artefacts and photographs of Seething Airfield and those based there between 1943 and 1945. It is open on the first Sunday of the month between May and October. website
